What Is A Metaphor? A Definition and Some Examples


A metaphor is a figure of speech that uses an object or action to represent something else. They have a variety of meanings and can be used in many different contexts. Metaphors can be used to describe feelings and experiences, and to make a point about a situation. For example, if you were talking about a friend, you might say that she is as cold as ice. That would be a metaphor because the word ice is being used to represent the friend.

Here, Subject is called a lion just to show his bravery.
